Safe Affordable Reliable Avatar for Homecare (SARAH)


Description:

The overall vision of the SARAH EIC Accelerator Pilot project is to prototype, pilot and commercialise our complete solution for Halodi’s next generation robot, SARAH, which will be tailor-made for the specific needs of the homecare market, including capability and safety requirements for aging in place. SARAH is a safe Affordable Reliable Avatar for Homecare, is based on Halodi’s fundamental research into high power motors and tendon-based transmissions and the EVE research robot. This technology avoids the stiff, heavy and dangerous side-effects of geared solutions inherited from the industrial era of robotics and rethinks robotics from the shared human workspaces perspective, fully solving the dangers of stiff and heavy systems, while at the same time reducing complexity and increasing performance. SARAH can carry out a wide range of assistive tasks for the care recipients for an end-user through remote operator guidance. The aim of the envisaged project is to move our current prototype technology to full commercialisation onto the global market. The SARAH technology has a major market potential compared to current state-of-the-art technologies. To increase our commercial success and impact, we have created a Strategic Business Plan, as a detailed roadmap, describing all necessary activities we need to undertake to ensure a successful market introduction. Now, we seek to develop our Commercialisation Plan (CP), which will form an important part of the final Business Innovation Plan (BIP), to be created in this Accelerator Pilot project. As the envisaged Accelerator Pilot project builds upon a validated prototype technology, the majority of our efforts will be focused on piloting and commercialisation activities.
